5 HVAC Tips for Re-opening During Covid

Recommendations are from ASHRAE Epidemic Task Force.

3CE has received several emails regarding recommendations for HVAC equipment maintenance and upgrades to accommodate for operations during COVID-19. To guide you through these documents, we compiled these five recommendations to help your school with operations.

 

PRIOR

Operate HVAC systems in occupied mode one week prior to students returning.

DAILY

2 hours prior to occupancy every day, mechanical systems should be operated in occupied mode.

UPGRADE

Increase filtration to MERV 13 or better provided equipment can accommodate.

UPDATE

Maximize the amount of ventilation air brought into the building.

INSTALL

If possible, install UV/C lights in the return airstream.
